Our summer book club has begun. We are exploring the role of the biblical prophet not only in ancient days but in our own days as well. We are using an edition of the journal “Oneing” from the Center for Action and Contemplation. “Oneing” is an old english word that was used by Julian of Norwich to describe the encounter between God and the soul. It expresses divine unity that stands behind all of the divisions, dichotomies, and dualisms in the world. We pray and publish with Jesus’ words, “that all may be one” (John 17:21).
The book club meets every Wednesday morning in the Elms Library on the campus of Briarwood Retirement Community. 10:30 am is the start time with fresh coffee and new friends. All are invited.
