August 14th’s Salem Summer BBQ was a huge success. Early speculation spread through the congregation during worship that cook, Mark Nilson, had been replaced due to last month’s poor performance. Thus, we had about double the participation from last month. (Picture taken from July’s gathering during happier days for Nilson). Mitch Sanders filled in as chief grill meister who started his cooking during the uprising and ouster of Nilson. Sanders has had a long tenure with many BBQ centers, including internships across the globe. Be sure to not miss our next lunch gathering.
