A Conversation in Race, Discipleship, and Justice
EACH WEDNESDAY evening at 7:00 pm, we set aside an hour for a Zoom conversation on race. “The 1619 Project” a podcast created by The New York Times Magazine and written by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones will provide us with a template for our conversations. 1619 is the year of the first slave ship’s arrival on our shores instituting slavery. We are asking that in preparation for our conversation, everyone download an episode of the podcast on their smart phones or computers and listen to the assigned session. I encourage you to participate. It might feel risky, messy, and a bit uncomfortable but it is critical work for our on-going transformation as people of faith.
