“Learning to Love” is our year’s theme, and it stems from Brian McLaren’s book, The Great Spiritual Migration: How the World’s largest religion is seeking a better way to be a Christian. On October 10th, a Monday this year, we invite you to come together to watch McLaren share a new vision for the church with a vast online congregation. “The Great Spiritual migration” is the name of his address, a conversation about the great migration away from rigid sets of beliefs and dogma to a focus on love and compassion. This is a rare opportunity for us to struggle with the great challenges set before the church. Will we be able to make the transition away from set beliefs and truly embrace Jesus’ one mandate to “love”?
