The opportunity to share gratitude for God’s provision and presence in both our individual and corporate lives can be met by participating in two gatherings: the first is an interfaith Thanksgiving celebration on Tuesday, November 22, 2016; the second is Salem’s own community gathering on Thanksgiving Eve at church.
Hosted at the Belmont AME Zion Church at 55 Illinois Street, “A Community of Thanks” will bring together representatives from many of Worcester’s rich faith traditions. At a time when relationships across both religious and ethnic lines seem threatened, it is most important that we stand together and nurture our connection and affiliation with one another. Come and share an opportunity to witness and give witness to the broad spectrum of religious traditions found in Worcester County. The service begins at 7:00 pm. On-site parking is provided and non-perishables and cash donations will be accepted to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank.
On Thanksgiving Eve, Salem’s doors will be open to all who would like to acknowledge the gift of God’s grace in their life as we join in an informal worship service beginning at 7:00 pm. This brief yet beautiful service will be filled with song, prayer, and opportunity for sharing our personal stories of thanksgiving to God. Our service will be followed by a pie dessert as we continue fellowship together.
Don’t miss your opportunity of thanksgiving. In all we do, let us give thanks to God who never ceases to care for the world of God’s creation!
