In 2017 & 2018, Karen Nilson, a retired elementary school principal from Seattle and daughter of Salem Covenant Church took up film making as an avocation and vehicle for sharing important life stories. Reunited with Salem and its people when her brother become Salem’s pastor, Karen was inspired by the life story of Nancy Carlson and her journey navigating life as the mother of a gay son. “Steadfast” is an honest and beautiful telling of one family’s experience with one another, their faith and faith communities, and the transformative power of love and grace. Join us for an afternoon of viewing the film, a time of debriefing with Karen Nilson and the gathered community, and an hors-d’oeuvres reception.
