Begger’s Bowl, Oct 19, First Baptist Church, 111 Park St. Worcester. The Worcester Interfaith Council is the central post that gathers Worcester’s congregations in efforts to reduce violence, support social justice causes that directly minister to our city’s poor and marginalized, and is a voice for local congregations to Worcester’s civic leaders.

Housed in First Baptist Church, the center is lead by Rev. Frank Kartheiser who has been at work in our city for over thirty years. Beggar’s Bowl is the annual fundraiser that financially undergirds WIC. Members of the Council provide and serve soup to participants who are then encouraged to take the bowl home with them.

The bowls have been personally molded and fired into beautiful clay pieces of art by WIC’s director Frank Kartheiser. The fund raiser targets $50 per/person donation to be included in this year’s soup outreach. Let’s support this worthy cause and share a couple of bowls of tomato, clam chowder or vegetable soup together. Remember, cool weather might even be upon us at that time.
