LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what are mere mortals that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Psalm 8: 1, 3-9
Some people would say that we don’t need to worry about overuse of natural resources or pollution or global warming because we have been given the earth to use and we are going to heaven when Jesus returns. What would you say to someone with this perspective?
How is God able to express his love for us through nature/ his creation?
How are we able to express our love to God through our relationship with nature?
How could our attitude and actions toward nature show love toward each other?
Why do you think the Bible uses these examples of nature to describe his love?
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103: 11, 12
