From chalkings, to oil paint, photography to verse, the art exhibit hosted by Salem Covenant was a wonderful addition to an already robust¬†Holy Week observance. Personal transformation was the theme of the exhibit with local artists, most from Salem’s own community, showing their works. In all twenty-two¬†pieces were part of the collection each provided a descriptive notation the impetus/story behind the work. Beverages and light refreshments were served to guests who strolled through the gallery while mingling with one another. Pictured in this post are two entries: the chalking was done by former pastor of Salem, Roger Palmquist, depicting an Emmaus encounter, the watercolor was created by Zackary Olson, a senior art student at Burncoat High School. A word of thanks is expressed to all artists for their thoughtful entries.
